I was playing with friendly plastic. At 300 degrees it was liquid. I embedded a molded butterfly into the plastic. I added findings to create a very light weight earring.

I aquired some blank writing journals. Patterns were created in colored polymer clay. The clay was cured and fused to form covers for the books.

Lighted Polymer Pendants

I created flat sheets of clay mixing bright colors with a lot of translucent clay. The thin sheet of clay was formed around a wooden cone shape. The clay was cured until it was hard. A miniature LED light is placed inside. The light is suppose to shine through the pendant. My design is giving some interesting results.

I have been trying to come up with a necklace design more like a collar. These necklaces have five segments that are hinged to lay smoothly on a woman's neck.

We just finished our thirteenth day of art shows for 2015. A number of outside fairs were a part of this year in Arizona, Nevada, and Oregon. I have a little time to explore some new ideas. This is a new line of gummy bear products.

Joining the Portland Polymer Clay Art Network has given me a wonderful resource for many of the frequently used techniques. It has been fun to experiment with the polymer in a group setting. The group members have a wealth of stories about strategies that give good results. This past week we used the Mokume Gane process. This pendant is a slice of clay from that process.
